How quality is documented
Quality of a mushroom extract is not one number. Raw material, part, extraction, markers and batch documentation are matched to the species and the application.
- COA on every batch: beta-glucans, heavy metals, pesticides, microbiology.
- Methods are named on the document: Megazyme K-YBGL for beta-glucans, ICP-MS for heavy metals, HPLC for ganoderic acids.
- Hot water extract or dual extract (water and ethanol), depending on the species.
- A result without a method is not a specification.

If a certificate of analysis or a specification sheet is already on your desk, Yi reads it and writes back what the document proves, what it does not prove, and which questions to send to your supplier.
What Yi checks: species and part, extraction and ratio, marker and method, carrier content, the contaminant panel, and what is missing.

Yi Loves Mushroom is Yi's education project. Yi has worked with mushrooms since 2007, across cultivation, raw-material selection, extraction, testing and supply. Supply and invoicing run through Aloha Fungi, an EU company based in Poland, where Yi is co-founder and head of sourcing.
